Sarah and Maurice | SkyView at Fall River Village

If I had to sum up Sarah and Maurice’s SkyView at Fall River Village wedding with one word, it would be
FUN.

They had such a fun time, from the moment we met up in the morning, all the way to capping off the day by running through streamers out to their vehicle.

One of my favorite things about SkyView – besides their amazing ceremony views and large bay windows – is it’s proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park.

For Sarah and Maurice’s first look, we headed to Sheep Lakes – an alpine valley looking over Mt. Sundance and Mt. Chapin inside Rocky Mountain National Park. During the evening hours, Elk and Mountain Goats like to hang out in the field and bathe in the small lakes (the field is actually closed from 5pm – 7am during Rut season due to the amount of animals that enjoy the field).

Before heading back to SkyView, we made one last stop at Horseshoe Park, overlooking the famous combination of Chapin, Chiquita, and Ypslion Peaks (CCY as us hikers refer to the trio). Some of my favorite views at Horseshoe Park look out onto the dramatic Ypslion Peak while standing on a stunning, dramatic rocky outcrop.

Once we got back to the venue, the party began.

Their wedding party greeted us with a loud cheer – and lots of dancing around, lifting up Sarah and Maurice, and general shenanigans ensued. Even parents joined in the goofiness. If there’s one thing that I love as a wedding photographer, it’s being a part of such joyous celebrations (and let’s be honest, I’m having fun participating as well).

During their ceremony, Sarah and Maurice took the time to sing a beautiful song with their loved ones in attendance, as well as read handwritten Thank You’s to their family members in attendance. One thing that has stuck with me since their wedding is that they had stated they want to live their lives and start their marriage with Gratitude in the hearts.

After running through a sea of Rose Pedals for their ceremony recession – we headed into the sun filled reception room. SkyView, as previously mentioned, has amazing bay windows lining the entire SouthWestern walls of the building – letting so much light into the room. Also, the views of Longs Peak booming behind the head table is simply a stunning backdrop.

Once dinner and toasts concluded – The Dance Party Commenced.

Starting off strong, the Wedding Party made a custom mixed song dedicated to Sarah and Maurice set to a bassy/funky techno beat. We all were in stitches listening to the crazy lyrics crafted by their siblings and friends. I’m fairly certain I was wiping tears of laughter off the back of my camera.

I can’t remember a reception where I danced as much as I did this evening. I was jumping, eating cake on the dance floor (including holding my camera in the other hand), dropping it low, dancing with glowsticks alongside their FABULOUS wedding coordinator (Seriously, Check out Laura with McArthur Weddings and Events), and left with my legs the consistency of Jello.

Congratulations again, Sarah and Maurice. It was such an honor to celebrate with you and your loved ones.

Cheers –
