N and J | Mt. Princeton Wedding

Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is an amazing, tucked away, resort that has natural hot springs on site and faces the stunning Chalk Cliffs and 14,000 ft. peak that happens to be it’s namesake (Mt. Princeton). A stunning wedding and event center is also on site, that boasts floor to ceiling glass windows and the same beautiful views looking out where you can host a ceremony. All that to say – it’s a STUNNING wedding venue that is perfect for those looking for a true Colorado mountain experience. And who doesn’t want to take a post-wedding dip into some soothing hot springs?!

N and J invited out all of their family and friends to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs in celebration of their May wedding.

I met N and J through their wedding planner, Jennifer with HitchedAF, who I’ve had the pleasure of working with at a few weddings (if you’re looking for an AWESOME planner, look no further). Jennifer had told me that we’d all get along swimmingly due to our love for the outdoors and wanting real-life images. She was spot on – I had such an amazing time getting to know N and J at both their engagement session as well as spending the day together for their wedding. Jennifer also knew that Moxie, their puppers, would be in attendance at both events. If there’s one thing that I love in this world, it’s dogs.

On the day of their wedding, may did as may does and decided to grace the mountains with some rain showers. We headed out to a favorite trailhead for some photos where N and J were such great sports and adventured around for some outdoor photos with another 14er, Mt. Antero, in the background. Moxie of course joined us on our journey. We were fortunate enough to have moody views and little rain, until just before family photos, where we audible’d and moved indoors. This is where those amazing floor to ceiling windows come into play – we were able to still get views of the Chalk Cliffs (when they weren’t shrouded in clouds) while staying in the dry comfort of the indoors.

For their ceremony, we all headed out to the lawn for a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony. The couple opted to not have a traditional wedding party and stand up just the two of them at the front of the ceremony space. N’s brother officiated the ceremony – where lots of laughter and tears of joy were had. They headed back down the aisle as Newlyweds – where they stopped to take a photo at the end of the aisle with all their guests. Sometimes, this is an incredibly hard thing to do logistically. However, Jennifer was waiting there with a step-stool for me to gain a height advantage, and Mt. Princeton is a super spacious area that really lends it’s self to things like large portraits with many people.

To cap off their day, all their guests danced while a live wedding band played into the night.

Congratulations again, N and J!

Cheers-
