Caroline and Phillip | Gore Range Engagement
Savannah Chandler Photography | Vail Engagement Photographer
Caroline and Phillip moved to Evergreen, Colorado not that long ago and wanted to get their engagement photographs taken with a stunning fall time mountain feel to them.
The Gore Range, near Vail, is one of Colorado’s least travelled mountain ranges and boasts some of the most spectacular views. Many of the peaks are quite jagged and have spires jetting out into the sky. This particular spot, which is a favorite of mine for photos and personal hiking, looks out onto the Grand Traverse – a mountain spine that raises up over 12,000′ and connects all along the mountain range. The area is also FULL of aspen trees – which turn spectacular colors in mid to late September.
After taking a drive up into the area before our shoot – Caroline and Phillip took one look at this fantastic field and decided that it was where they’d like to take their engagement photographs.
On a stormy weekday afternoon, we headed out onto the trail with an amazing skirt and suit in tow. Inclement weather (as long as our safety isn’t in danger) can be so incredibly beautiful. We had looked up the weather report multiple times that week and been in communication – and decided to go for it. And man am I glad we did.
No rain fell on us, but the dramatic storm skies settling over the Grand Traverse made for one of the most epic sunsets that I’ve seen.
I had so much fun adventuring, and laughing until our sides about split, with you Caroline and Phillip – and of course puppers Scarlett.
Cheers –
