Bridgette and Evan | Mt Blue Sky Engagement

Bridgette and Evan chose Mt. Evans (now known as Mt. Blue Sky) for their engagement session due to some personal attachments to the stunning peak, as well as Evan sharing the same name as the (formerly named) mountain.

Sitting at 14,265 feet high, Mt. Blue Sky is one of the most accessible and highest peaks in Colorado. Just sneaking above the other drivable peak (Pikes Peak), Mt. Blue Sky is the highest you can get without having to put in a lot of foot effort to get atop.

We met up at the top lot just before sunrise to hike up the last bit of rock on a smoky, smoky morning. I’ve said it before, but inclement weather and unfortunate (but not life threatening) natural disasters can create some of the most dramatic and beautiful skies. This morning was one such case.

On the last day that the road was open for the season (it closes right around Labor Day every year due to fast changing weather at 14,000 ft), we adventured around the summit, Chicago Lakes ovelrook, and down at Summit Lake. The road provides outstanding access to multiple areas on the mountain.
